Morgana Warren-Jones is a highly versatile mezzo-soprano from North Wales. She is an expressive performer and sensitive musician working on both the concert platform and operatic stage, with a particular interest in baroque and contemporary music. Described by theArtsDesk as ‘a singer who can act with skill and shine immediately when her time comes’, Morgana is passionate about sincere and compelling storytelling.
Recent operatic roles include Catrin for the première of Gresford: Up From Underground (North Wales International Festival), cover Madrigal Singer Manon Lescaut (English Touring Opera), Fanny Price Mansfield Park (RNCM), cover Coll Drought première (BBC Philharmonic), Vava Cherry Town, Moscow (WNO), Marcellina Le nozze di Figaro (RNCM), and Madame Flora The Medium (RNCM). She has joined the ensemble for Manon Lescaut (ETO), The Rake’s Progress (ETO), Guillaume Tell (Nouvel Opéra Fribourg/Irish National Opera) and La donna del lago (Buxton International Festival).
Morgana has performed recitals for Leeds Lieder, the University of Leeds, NEW Sinfonia, and the Hallé, is a regular soloist with choral societies across the country, and leads music workshops for WNO, Grange Park Opera and Leeds Lieder. A recent graduate of the RNCM, Morgana won all of the college’s major vocal competitions and was a finalist in the prestigious Gold Medal prize.
